چکیده

In this era of minimal intervention dentistry, the changing concept of cavity preparation and the introduction of reliable adhesive materials have lead to the development of alternative methods of caries removal. Chemo mechanical caries removal (CMCR) involves the chemical softening of the carious dentine, followed by its removal with gentle excavation. This process removes only the infected tissues thereby preserving the healthy dental structures, avoiding pulpal irritation and patient discomfort. Chemo mechanical caries removal has gained high acceptance among children, dental phobic's and medically compromised patients. This article presents a comprehensive review on chemo mechanical caries removal using caridex, carisolv, and papacarie.

Caries Removal by Chemomechanical ( Carisolv TM ) and Conventional ( Airotor ) Methods – Comparative In - Vitro Study

Aim: To compare the caries removal efficacy between chemomechanical method (Carisolv) and conventional method (airotor) in freshly extracted molars. Materials And Methods: 100 freshly extracted molars with dentinal caries on the occlusal surface were selected. Of which, 50 teeth were treated with chemo-mechanical (Carisolv) and in the other 50 teeth by conventional (airotor) method. Completenes...

MALAYSIAN DENTAL JOURNAL Evaluation of Clinical Efficacy of Two Chemo-Mechanical Caries Removal Agents in Primary Molars – A Comparative Study

Background: In children, caries removal by means of conventional rotary instruments is often associated with pain and discomfort. An alternative method to conventional caries removal by means of rotary instruments is the use of chemo-mechanical caries removal agents. Aim: To evaluate and compare the efficacy of two chemomechanical caries removal agents Carisolv and Papacarie in reducing carioge...

X-ray microtomography study to validate the efficacies of caries removal in primary molars by hand excavation and chemo-mechanical technique.

BACKGROUND/AIMS Mechanical removal of carious dentine based on perceived hardness is subjective and tends to be excessively destructive; chemo-mechanical techniques have been proposed as being more objective and conservative. The aims of the present study are to use X-ray microtomography (XMT/micro-CT) to determine the three-dimensional mineral concentration distribution in sound, carious and e...

Chemo-mechanical caries removal with Papacarie™: case series with 84 reports and 12 months of follow-up.

AIM The aim of the present study was to determine the success rate after 12 months of follow-up in a series of cases in which chemo-mechanical caries removal (CMCR) was performed with Papacarie(TM), followed by restoration with glass ionomer cement. BACKGROUND The development of conservative techniques for carious tissue removal and improvements in dental restoration materials have allowed be...
